Mysore Style – English

“Mysore style” is the traditional way Ashtanga yoga is introduced and taught in Mysore, India, by Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois. Students work individually at their level and pace and work on the sequence they have been assigned to. The teacher teaches the series (that the students have to memorize) according to the condition of the student. He gives one to one assistance, adjustments and instructions within this group environment and students are introduced to new postures when they are ready. This style of teaching is open to all levels of students.
